So many ideas.

So, I had completely forgotten about this account and website, but I got it back just in time, because I've been yearning to start and write a roleplay. My roleplaying 'abilities' might be a little rusty, so you'll have to bear with me.

Anyway, this post is going to be a small compendium of the ideas I've currently have on my mind (I'm not sure if this is the right sub-forum to post this?) and the feedback you people might give me. I actually encourage you to criticize and tell me what you'll add or fix!

First scenario/idea would be...

Something along the lines of Ana?s Mitchell's Hadestown (A wonderful album by a wonderful artist.), an album that's based on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, but with a small twist. It's set in a post-apocalyptic, depression-like era. Here Hades is the self crowned king of an underground city called Hadestown, sorrounded by a huge wall (Aptly named the River Styx, because no-one who tries to cross it survives.), thousands of people come everyday, begging for work at Hadestown's mines, Hades accepts some but rejects some more. He meets Eurydice at the train station, where a train to Hadestown was just leaving and convinces her to go with him.
Meanwhile, Persephone, Hades' wife, comes to town every winter. But she doesn't approve of her husband's ideas so instead, she smuggles different goods into the city to sell them to the secluded inhabitants.

That is a really shortened version of the whole album's story, but what I intend to do with this roleplay is try and expand this universe. My main idea was to turn the gods from mythology into the kings/presidents/chiefs of said era countries or settlements. For example, Fleet Admiral Poseidon could be the leader of a group of Navy stranded in the middle of the sea, etc.

I think this is really good idea, but it'll be really hard to keep it controled, considering the huge possibilities based on the HUGE amount of gods and goddesses on the greek mythology.

Second one, coming right up.
This one is more original, if you will. And bit more heretic.

Set in a universe where technology (And science in general.) is more related to religion, most of the land is barren, giving people really few places to live in. Three factions started to gain power and fame.

A mysterious organization known as Heaven, which quickly started to conquer and surround with fences the few inhabitable spaces on the land. But they don't just take them away, they actually start developing said terrains, quickly turning them from deserts or barely fertile to big, exuberant forests and gardens. With the help of Angels (What we know as Androids.) and under the direction of a person only known as G.O.D (Their real name, gender or age is unknown. Nobody even knows if G.O.D is a human, an 'angel', or something else.) they quickly started gaining adepts and followers, offering them access to the glorious gardens, to be tended by the angels... but at the same time, their law is what most would call tyrannical, punishing and killing people for the pettiest crimes.

There still are few human settlements scattered around the earth, even though they're rare and barely surviving. People from these settlements expertise in hunting and farming, but since most places are completely barren, or conquered by the other two factions, they are forced to live in a constant hurry, trying to make the best out of everything. Using every part of an animal, or a plant. Constantly moving from one part to another, so they have more chances to get more food...

Finally, Hell, composed of those humans who had been exiled from their tribes. And the few mutants that managed to keep living despite their mutations and impediments. These mutants aren't like the x-men type, at all, though. They just have mutated due to the huge cataclysm that happened ages ago on earth. Most of the living mutants have really small mutations, or else they wouldn't have survived to reach adulthood. Claiming that earth belongs to everyone, not just a select group of people they actually go against Heaven's desires, boycotting and hacking their servers as much and as frequent as possible. They're generally settled in the ruins of cities, living either in the sewers or in the tunnels, only going out at night. They prefer to rely on the technology found on said ruins, salvaging as much as possible and using gadgets that are outdated and turning them into weapons or useful devices.
